In West Africa, Acacia nilotica is used for tanning leather, dyeing, and as a source of fodder for livestock. It is also used in traditional medicine because the plant has anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. In Ghana/Nigeria the decoction is used by women for their intimate health and stimulation of libido.
Preparation: wash gently the pods but don’t remove the seeds. Boil the pods for 20 min. and let if infuse for an other 20 min. To be use locally or as tea.
